ChatBot-AI Chat is an AI assistant app. It has no user accounts and no server of its own: your conversations are stored on your phone, and messages are sent directly from your phone to an AI service to generate replies. This policy explains exactly what that means.
1. Information stored on your device
The following stays on your phone and is never sent to us:
- Your conversations, attached photos and documents, and the text extracted from documents
- Custom assistants and saved writing
- Settings (theme, languages, display name if you enter one) and usage counters
This data is excluded from Android cloud backup. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
2. Information sent to the AI service
To answer you, the app sends the following over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to OpenRouter (openrouter.ai), which forwards it to a provider hosting the DeepSeek V4.1 Flash model:
- The message you send and recent earlier messages in that conversation
- The instructions of the assistant you are using, and your display name if you set one
- Relevant parts of documents you attach, and photos you attach (downscaled)
We do not receive this content. OpenRouter and the model provider process it to generate the reply under their own privacy policies and terms; depending on their settings they may retain it for a limited period, for example for abuse prevention. Please don't send sensitive personal information you are not comfortable sharing with these services.
3. Voice input and read-aloud
Voice input uses your phone's built-in speech recognition service (on most Android phones, Google). Audio is handled by that service under its own privacy policy; ChatBot-AI Chat receives only the recognised text. Read-aloud uses your phone's text-to-speech engine.
4. Reporting AI responses
If you tap Report on an AI response, the report (the reason you choose, any note you add, the response text, the app version and the model name) is sent to us, either by an email you send from your own email app or through an in-app form. We use reports only to improve safety and quality, and delete them when no longer needed.
5. What we do not do
- No accounts, sign-in or contact lists
- No advertising, analytics or tracking SDKs
- No location access
- No selling or sharing of personal data
6. Permissions

7. Children
ChatBot-AI Chat is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
8. Data retention and deletion
Data on your phone stays until you delete it (individual chats in History, everything in Profile → Clear chat history) or uninstall the app. We hold no copy of your conversations, so there is nothing for us to delete on a server. Reports you send are deleted once handled.
9. Security
All network traffic uses HTTPS. Data on your phone is protected by Android's app sandbox. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure.
10. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.
